Intel or AMD which is better for you?

For a desktop pc which CPU is better AMD or INTEL?

Before buying new PC one should think about the requirement, best price for that and of course which CPU or Mother Board will fit for your requirement.

Which is better Intel or AMD for your requirement it is a never ending debate who will give better performance?

The Intel is the first choice in India as per the market survey. It is because of mainly three factors. First very less Indian users even never heard the name of AMD but Intel is a house hold name. Secondly AMD was in famous for its heat producing phenomena (Pre AMD K6 TM-2years) and that its bad name still continues due to the ignorance of the users. But there is no known heat issue in past 6-7 years on AMD processors. And thirdly AMD does not make motherboard for its own processors as Intel does for its processors. ASUS is the official motherboard manufacture for AMD.

Users in countries like US and Europe used to prefer AMD processor rather than Intel. It proves in the recent market survey.

COMPARISON STUDY

1.    Intel Processors does not have MMX (Multimedia Component) technology inbuilt. For which to feel the highest level of multimedia performance it is always advisable to go for a Graphics Card with Intel Processors.

AMD processor is having MMX technology inbuilt. So, it does fairly well on graphics front with comparison to Intel.

2.    Intel Processor can support a maximum of 1666 MHz FSB. FSB is the very important factor for the total performance of CPU.

AMD processor can support a maximum of 2066 MHz FSB. By virtue of FSB AMD do better than Intel.

3.    Intel took a long time to come up with 64 bit CPU and dual core architecture. The dual core which was first released was of inferior quality than actual AMD available in the market at that time. So, they come up with Core 2 DUO processor to match with it.

AMD does not have such different versions.

4.    Intel Processors are at least 1.5 times costlier than same type of AMD processors.

AMD is cheaper than Intel.

5.    Intel makes its own compatible chipset for each version.

ASUS is the official chipset manufacturer for AMD.

Yes the world goes towards 64 bit computing. But there is no still fully 64 bit OS from Microsoft family. They I hope there is no point to go for Intel Processor for a Multimedia/Home PC/Personal PC at least when we keep in mind economy not Enthusiasm. As on date all processor available in Market support 64 bit Architecture and you can find any Linux OS (Ubuntu, Mandriva & Fedora) in 64 bit easily and free of cost. Even Microsoft also provides 64 bit version of every OS (Desktop Version) but you will have to ask for it exclusively. AMD is far better in low budget PCs.

Here is one more good option if you only want PC for internet browsing, watching movie, listen music and some office software etc. Intel ATOM is the right processor for this. As it saves a lot of power and also less on pocket too.

The above study is done for the layman like me in which deep technical description is missing. For more details visit company’s their home pages.
