Hard disk is an important part in pc which stores all software's ( including OS and Application software), user data, files and folder. It is a permanent memory storage type which can retain data even after power interruption.

One may required to remove hard disk drive from pc due to any of these reasons:
(a) Fault or failure.
(b) New installation.
(c) Up gradation.
(d) Configuring master to slave or vice versa.
Removal of Hard Disk Drive
Desktop:
(1) Insure cpu power switch off
(2) Take out the cpu cover
(3) Locate Hard disk drive
(4) Disconnect hard disk power cable
(5) Disconnect hard disk drive data cable
(6) Unscrew hard disk drive casing
(7) Remove hard disk drive from casing
Laptop:
(1) Insure laptop power switch off
(2) Locate hard disk drive extraction panel at back of the laptop (Tech manual of the respective model may be useful)
(3) Unscrew panel
(4) Unscrew hard disk drive casing (hard disk is fitted in casing)
(5) Remove hard disk drive from casing and remove adapter if any.
