Different fraud/scam tricks on Internet

If you get an unsolicited email promising millions of money for your small assistance then it is time to alert your self. A fraudulent act has began against you. Every thing on net is not good for health. 

Internet is good, not to mention but it is worth to say that many greedy people busy with misuse of internet resources to fulfill their evil thoughts. Also daily they are doing new innovations to cheat innocents. People or  group who involved in these fraudulent acts to cheat innocents are "Scammer" and their act called "Scam"

Nowadays different media like - email, sms, phone call, postal letter and fax are being used for these acts. Out of them email system is most popular, cheap and easy accessible. So they always busy with sending thousands of email daily to all over the world. These emails attract greedy people, so many of them became a victim of it.

 Main aim behind all scam is to snatch money from innocents by showing greed of wealth which is always a pack of lie. Replying those mails and running behind it is simply wastage of time.

Most of the time Scammer ask for money in advance by giving some false promises. This is called "Advance  Fee Fraud".
The tricks commonly used by scammer on internet:
  1. Lottery/Award/Prize/Promo on the name of MNC's for no reason.
  2. Donation/Grant/Relief Fund for no reason and no identity.
  3. Refugee girl, only owner of huge wealth and parent died in an accident/civil war/rebel.
  4. Person with lots of money and no children support.
  5. Suffering from life lasting disease, no children  or  anyone who look after.
  6. Owner  of huge money, willing to give someone for charity.
  7. Working in remote place and holding some huge amount with some other country bank.
  8. Unclaimed money - like rich man with huge balance in bank died without next of kin declaration.
  9. Wanted to exchange foreign business cheque  in your account for which you will get percentage.
  10. Business proposal of large investment for no reason.
  11. Work from home and get quick rich - methods.
  12. Job opportunity/Recruitment offers.
  13. Fake Diploma/Degree on cheap rate.
  14. Cheap service offer - like: parcel, goods delivery etc.
  15. Cheap loan offer on extremely low rates without document.
  16. Valid software or company promotional software on very cheap rate.
  17. Account password phishing generally of Bank accounts and Mailbox.
  18. PTC(Paid to Click) sites.
These are only few examples, but in real it is in thousands. Research is always on in field of scam to fool the people. We must be vigilant on net to protect self and our other friends from being victim of it by denying those trials.

What to do with scam mail received in mailbox?: One of the best way to tackle those trials is to
  • Read it
  • Sense probable risk
  • Enjoy the trick
  • Delete it (no quarry, no reply), let the effort of scammer go in vain.
  • Make other friends to know.
Email address used by scammers: Generally scammers use to send thousands of mails daily, all over the world targeting innocent people. One thing is important to know that how they manage to get those email addresses. They acquire those through following means:
  • Buying list of real emails illegally: There are peoples who involved in stealing email list from ISP's and sell them illegally to third party on high price. These are genuine email address.
  • Email harvesting programs: These are programs which can copy text contains “@” character from web page and email address always contains @ character inside. This program can produce thousands of email address in short while. Its result has equal probability of working and nonworking.
  • Dictionary programs email generator: (like brute force) It is program which produce alphanumeric combination of emails in sequence. Out of all many are incorrect but some of them are true and working.
  • Dishonest site: There are many sites on net which designed for email stealing. Those sites generally contains forms like - User registration, News letter subscription, Reminder, and Updates etc. All these forms require email Id’s which ultimately get saved in a list.
What is spam?
It is an unsolicited bulk emails sent over internet to reach large number of users. It is done for the purpose of advertisement, survey, opinion poll, phishing, scams and spreading malware. Scammers do spamming over the internet.

People should also beware the combination of email and phone scams. Sometimes these work in combination: first you get an email then a day later a phone call. If someone calls promising anything in the above list, then I would be very suspicious. Thanks for this list, too. It's pretty comprehensive.
